The Socio-Religious trust, Sri Ramakrishna Sangha has been consistently working for the past 14 years for spiritual development of the residents of Dwarka. In that respect, it conducts spiritual classes on a fortnightly basis and also arranges for discourses by the exponents on practical implementation of the scriptural teachings in daily life.
For past 4 years the trust has started a flagship program, ‘Vivekdeep’ to cater to the Life Skills of underprivileged kids of Matiala, Sec 3 as per the ‘Man making, character building’ mission of Sw. Vivekananda. Vivekdeep provides academic knowledge blended with value education. The entire programme is run solely by the financial contribution of well-wishers and selfless service of some spirited volunteers.
Recently Sri Ramakrishna Sangha celebrated its 14th anniversary and 4th Annual Day of Vivekdeep. The program started with vedic chanting by the students. The welcome address was delivered by Shri Arun Dey, Managing Trustee of the trust. The Annual Report was presented by Shri Rajib Roy, President of the trust. Shri Roy beautifully explained the twin philosophy of Vivekdeep viz. Spiritual and Societal. He put across how ‘service to man is service to God’ can transform one’s life for better. Shri Roy also gave examples of how the students of Vivekdeep have attained physical, moral, and spiritual strength over the years. More than 1000 lives have been directly or indirectly benefitted by Vivekdeep so far.
After that, the students set the stage on fire by their scintillating performance in the form of mime, English dance drama and songs. Each performance was unique and left an indelible mark in the mind of the audience who was mesmerized throughout the 2 hour long program. The Chief Guest Sw. Shantatmananda, Secy Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi said Sw. Vivekananda’s life saving messages have taken the shape of many Vivekdeeps in our country. The Guest of Honour Dr. S. K. Garg, Principal of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College, Dwarka promised all possible help to Vivekdeep so that it can realize its noble objectives.
AVM Retd. S. K. Chaturvedi, Dr. B. D. Bhushan, Dept of English, Hansraj College, Shri Mukesh Sinha- philanthropist and Editor of Dwarka City and Smt. Sudha Sinha – Councillor of Dwarka were the special invitees.
